Creative Arts East 'Our Day Out' Volunteer Opportunity

Community Arts Placement with Leading Regional Arts Charity

Who Are We?

Creative Arts East is an arts and community development charity that aims to engage people living in rural communities across East Anglia in high quality, stimulating arts and cultural activities. We work throughout Norfolk, Suffolk & the East running Creative Arts East Live! & Creative Arts East Screen – rural touring schemes for live performance and cinema as well as a variety of projects concerned with creative learning, health & wellbeing and education, such as 'Our Day Out'. It is this project that we're looking to recruit for.

What is 'Our Day Out'?

'Our Day Out' is a unique arts programme which engages older people across Norfolk with culture and creativity through fun and relaxed participatory music and dance sessions, whilst in a dementia-inclusive environment. Sessions run twice a month in Hunstanton, Downham Market, Dereham, Watton, Attleborough, North Walsham, Thetford and Wells-next-the-sea. The sessions are led by professional artists, and past activities have included song-writing, African drumming, traditional tea dances, and we have also collaborated with internationally renowned dance company Rambert.
