Active Primary School Award

We want to celebrate a primary school that advocates the benefits of being physically active.
The award will acknowledge a Suffolk Primary School that is a positive example to other schools in the local area, continually strives to improve student health & wellbeing levels and makes significant efforts to promote sport and physical activity opportunities.
Inspiring young sportsperson or Team Award

Have you, your friends or family been inspired by a young local sporting star or team over the last year?
You may know them, be a fan or followed their success through social media.
This award will be given to young person or youth team who have been dedicated to their sporting discipline. The winner/s of this award will have acted as a role model for their local community, peers, and spectators where they have inspired their local community to be active and enjoy sport.
Examples of who could be nominated:
- This award will recognise a young elite local sports person or team
- This must be a local sports person or team (Under 16) that has inspired their community through their dedication and success.
Inspiring Sportsperson or Team Award
Sponsored by Haversport
Have you, your friends or family been inspired by a local sporting star or team over the last year that has worked hard to achieve their sporting success?
You may know them, be a fan or followed their success through social media.
This award will be given to an individual or team who have been dedicated to their sporting discipline. The winner/s of this award will have acted as a role model for their local community, peers, and spectators where they have inspired their local community to be active and enjoy sport.
Examples of who could be nominated:
- This award will recognise an elite local sports person or team
- This must be a local sports person (Aged 16+) that has inspired their community through their dedication and success.
The Active Club Award
Sponsored by Abbeycroft Leisure
The Active Club Award will recognise a sports or leisure club in Suffolk that works tirelessly to support the community to be active, participate in sport and bring people together. This could be a sports club, local leisure centre, a running club, swimming club, you name it, we want to hear about them!
This award will go to a sports club or community venue where sport and physical activity is at the core of what they do. The winning club would have clearly demonstrated ways in which they have supported the entire community to participate in sport and physical activity at varying levels of experience and ability.
The Active Coach Award
Sponsored by Everyone Active
The Active Coach Award will recognise an individual who coaches, instructs, or delivers physical activity sessions in the local community. The winner of this accolade will be recognised for their passion, drive, and enthusiasm to support local people to be active despite their age, background, or ability. This individual would have clearly demonstrated ways in which they have gone above and beyond to offer support, guidance, and encouragement.
Examples of who could be nominated:
- A coach or physical activity instructor who is supportive and motivational
- A coach or physical activity instructor who has opened the door to all through adapting sessions and offering an inclusive opportunity.
- A coach or physical activity instructor who has a clear passion for physical activity and helping people to achieve their goals.
The Active Change Award
Sponsored by Ipswich Borough Council
The Active Change Award celebrates an individual who has used physical activity, movement, or sport to make a positive change in their life despite poor health, long-term medical conditions or dealing with significant hardship, challenges, and obstacles in life.
Examples of who could be nominated:
- An individual who has managed to fulfil an active lifestyle despite living with a long-term health condition or disability, resulting in positive change.
- An individual that has been successful in accomplishing physical challenges despite setbacks due to personal challenges.
The Active Advocate Award (Professional)
Sponsored by The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity
The Active Advocate Award will recognise a professional who is passionate about the benefits of physical activity, movement, and sport and has had a positive impact on their patients, clients or customers.
This award recognises an individual who in their professional capacity puts physical activity, movement, and sport at the heart of what they do.
Examples of who could be nominated:
- A health professional such as a GP, physio, social prescriber or pharmacist who is invested in signposting, referring, prescribing, or supporting local people to move more.
- A professional working in or outside of the sport and physical activity sector who continues to place physical activity on their agenda to promote and encourage collaborative change.
The Active Advocate Award (Volunteer)

The Active Advocate Award will recognise an individual who is passionate about the benefits of physical activity, movement, and sport and has had a positive impact on their local community. This award will celebrate a volunteer in Suffolk who has gone out of their way to support, motivate and inspire local people to be active.
Examples of who could be nominated:
- A volunteer in the local community who actively sign posts or supports others to be active.
- Someone that volunteers for a community group that works to support and encourage physical activity, e.g. a parkrun marshal
- An individual who volunteers for their local sports club and sports group.
- A voluntary health Walk leader
My Active Community Award
Sponsored by East Suffolk Council
The My Active Community Award will celebrate and recognise a community within Suffolk that has made a commitment or conscious effort to ensure physical activity, sport or movement is at the heart of what they do. These efforts would have had a positive and lasting impact on the local residents, participants or employees they are connected with.
Examples of those who may qualify for a My Active Community Award includes:
- A workplace
- Faith or religious group
- A local village committee
- A community group
- A charitable organisation
- Your local neighborhood
- This may also include an online community
