November 19th 2020 - Primary PE, School Sport & Physical Activity Learning Event

The first of three virtual learning events available FREE for Suffolk Primary Schools. This session is themed on 'Active Learning', see the event agenda/schedule below:

3:30-4:00pm - Introduction by Craig Heap, Olympian and Commonwealth Games Team Captain & Gold Medallist and working as an Athlete Mentor for the Youth Sport Trust since 2007. Craig had this to say about his role:

I like to give others, particularly young people, the belief that they too can achieve whatever they want to if they put their minds to it and commit themselves 100%. Life is full of opportunities and you have to grab them when you can.

4:00-5:15pm - Teach Active Workshop and Q&A.

How Active Learning is Transforming Maths and English & Covid-19 - Active Learning within government guidelines

Audience: SLT/Maths leads/English leads/PE leads
This webinar looks at the benefits of introducing physically active learning alongside your current planning/scheme for Maths and English and how physically active learning (PAL) can continue, and thrive, within the current climate.

  • Demonstration of the Teach Active website, lessons plans and resources (and how to use them)
  • Benefits, quality assurance, case studies and data
  • How to safely and effectively continue PAL alongside government guidelines / social distancing
  • Demonstration of how the Teach Active resources supports this, FS-Year 6

This year has bought many challenges for schools, so Teach Active have provided teachers and pupils with further support to fully implement active learning as part of their recovery curriculum, help bridge the gaps in learning and increase levels of physical activity impacted by Covid-19. This is an opportunity for you to hear more from them and learn how they could support your school further.
