Workforce News

Since our last newsletter the government have announced further lifting of restrictions, so we hope that you have now been able to meet up (socially distancing of course!) with a friend or a member of your family or even exercise together! I know from a personal perspective it has been so lovely to see a few more familiar faces in person rather than in front of a screen!

The BOING Virtual Coaching Course

Book your place today

Booking Information

In partnership with Sport England, Boing Kids have developed a new Boing virtual coaching course which offers the opportunity for coaches and volunteers (anyone who works with children and young people where they are being active) to learn about Boing principles of play. The purpose of Boing is to get children more active, having fun and becoming more physically literate through active play.

Active Suffolk have set up a date for a virtual course to take place online on 25th June from 11am - 12pm. The cost has been subsidised by Active Suffolk and costs just £10 per person. If you are interested in taking part please book on using the 'Book Here' button above. Equally if you know of anyone who would benefit from this CPD, please share!

Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is a Public Health England initiative offering a training programme relevant to everyone. This 60-minute e-learning course will deliver confidence and an ability to have an effective behaviour change conversation, providing valuable tools for use in conversations with clients and the people you work with. Return to play - preparing for the next steps

In recent weeks Sport England have been consulting widely with the sector to get a sense of the kind of resources that would be helpful in advance of re-opening of facilities. Over the next few weeks Sport England will be issuing further guidance and a set of resources that will help plan for a safe return to sport and physical activity and support the sector to keep staff, volunteers, members and participants informed of their responsibilities around social distancing.

The resources will include:

- Inclusion and accessibility guidance

- Support for the professional workforce

- Volunteering guidance

- Managing liability and risk guidance

Club Matters

There will also be support for sports clubs and organisations on the Club Matters website, including:

- Reopening Toolkit

- Risk Register template

- Creating a risk assessment

- Social distancing guidance

For more information on what will be included in each of these resources please click here and we will also share these resources with you when they become available from Sport England.

Finally, just to remind you of our dedicated COVID-19 workforce pages on our website which we hope provides you with useful resources, guidance and support to help you, our workforce come back stronger when this is all over!
