We understand that setting New Year resolutions can sometimes feel overwhelming or add unnecessary pressure. However if you've been thinking about participating in more physical activity in 2022, we have discovered some challenges which could help you to get started!
What's great about these challenges is how you achieve the overall goal is totally up to you making it more achievable and inclusive of us all!
- 100 Miles for Suffolk Mind
Our partner Suffolk Mind is the leading mental health charity for the county, and they understand the significant benefits physical activity can have on our mental wellbeing.
The 100 miles for Suffolk Mind in 100 days challenge is to cover the distance of 100 miles over 100 days in whatever way you choose. Anyone, any age can take part, be it solo or as part of a team.
Just a mile a day from New Year to Easter and you could be a 100-mile superstar! You can walk, run, cycle, or even swim your way to springtime whilst raising vital funds. Find out more HERE

- Red January
Sport in Mind are the RED January for 2022 supporters! Join them in moving every day throughout January to beat the winter blues away.
All movement counts in this challenge, so whether you walk, participate in some stretching, swim, cycle or choose your favourite fitness activity, set your goal and enjoy support from the RED community!

- Run Your Age 2022
Age Uk offer support to older adults across the country and this January, they are challenging us all to move a little more whilst raising money for their charity.
so, It's your challenge, your way, based on your age, Age Uk suggest completing a physical activity goal throughout January. Whether you wish to run, jog or walk, it's up to you and your ability but here are some of their suggestions:
If you're 30...could you run, jog or walk 30 miles over the month of January?
If you're 90...could you climb 90 steps throughout the month of January?
- Move for Mind
Not sure you are ready to start on 1st January? Well Move for Mind challenges you to set yourself a 30-day physical activity and fundraising goal. and what this looks like, is entirely up to you.
You can dance, swim, walk, skip – so long as you're moving and having fun, it counts! You choose how you want to get active.
- The HER Spirit Couch2Kilos challenge
This one is for the ladies and provided by HER Spirit, an online community supported by the Sport England This Girl can campaign.
Join the Couch2Kilos challenge, support the #IAMWOMAN campaign and help HER Spirit to shatter some of the taboos around strength training and healthy eating for women.
Couch2Kilos is a free strength challenge designed to help EVERY women get stronger in 6-weeks. With four levels Couch2Kilos is suitable for women of all abilities from just starting out to those who are already active. It is totally flexible, you can do it anytime, from anywhere, at the gym or home and on any device. You can start with zero equipment and work up the levels and learn how use a variety of weights.
