Following an initial £2.5m investment, Sport England have announced their decision to boost the Active Together crowdfunding partnership by an additional £5m, supporting grassroots sports clubs across the country following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Return to Play: Active Together fund evolved from the 2018 collaboration between Sport England and Crowdfunder which saw them match-funding up to £10,000 for not-for-profit organisations that raise funds via the crowdfunding website.
Before now, the initiative has been a huge success and in Suffolk, almost £30,000 has been raised and issued to sports clubs that were impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Current and completed campaigns can be found at: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/funds/active-together whilst a breakdown of where the investment has gone across the country can be viewed HERE
All sports clubs, charities and other community organisations who deliver sport or activity in England are able to apply for up to £10,000 in match funding to help their communities get active. Sport England and Crowdfunder are working to support clubs across the country to understand this opportunity by offering a series of train the trainer sessions, free webinars and helpful resources all of which are linked below:
- Monthly Webinars including Q&As from previous successful campaign
- Online Courses
- Dedicated 1-2-1 Coaching
- Video FAQ tool
