Do you love talking about sport and reminiscing about your favourite sporting memories? Are you a speedway super fan? Lowestoft Library is holding a special Sporting Memories session on Thursday 27th September, where you can talk all things speedway with guest speaker Pete Rout!
The event will take place between 10.30am and 12.30pm, entry is completely free and refreshments will be provided.
Guest speaker Pete is a speedway super fan and has spent a lifetime following the fantastically fast-paced sport. In recent years, Pete has dedicated a lot of his time to crafting replica speedway racing jackets, lately for the National Speedway Museum. Pete will be bringing his passion and knowledge for the sport, along with an extensive collection of speedway memorabilia (including a vintage speedway bike) for viewing on the day.
Lowestoft Library welcomes you all to this event, and especially encourages you to bring along any of your own speedway memorabilia.
Sporting Memories is a registered charity committed to helping people share memories of sporting moments and is particularly dedicated to tackling dementia, depression and loneliness through sport. Sporting Memories sessions are held every Thursday morning at Lowestoft library between 10.30-12.15am, as well as at other locations across Suffolk on alternative days (Ipswich County Library, Newmarket Library, Shotley). The groups offer over-50s the chance to talk about sport of any kind, enjoy sport-themed games, make like-minded friends and share their own stories and memories from the world of sport.
Put the date in your calendar and race down to the library on the 27th September for a speedway spectacular.
