Martin Gear a Suffolk DJ and like many, had his income cut to zero but still managed to inspire so many people to get fit through dance during lockdown with his 'wake up, shake up' dance sets every Sunday morning from 8am - 10am live on Facebook from his garage! Martin's positivity kept hundreds motivated as well as fundraising for Make a wish and buying a bike for a child who had his stolen by bullies.
His dance sessions reached people all over the Country and inspired so many to set their alarms and have something to get up for!
Martins happy, energetic and upbeat character and music helped so many of us get through some really dark times during lockdown. Martin's Sunday mornings gave me motivation to get up and move. He's awesome"
His 2 hour set, as well as providing an opportunity to get fit also provided a lot of fun for everyone:
"Martin gave up his time every Sunday morning during lockdown to take us back to happier times by playing music from the 80's and 90's, which put a smile on everyone's face that tuned in. No only that but he also did a lot of fund raising. He is one amazing bloke. Well done Martin Gear"
His energetic and fun sessions helped listeners meet new friends, improve morale and really boosted people's spirits:
"It wasn't just about Martin's music, he interacted with everyone that was making comments. Reading the comments back Martin inspired many & even had private conversations to help others that he never even met before. I didn't know Martin before lockdown & he gave me the energy to get back on my treadmill & other exercises for the 2 hours every Sunday"
Great work Martin, you not only inspired people from Suffolk to get up and dance on a Sunday morning, you gave people across the Country a reason to dance and have fun! A thoroughly deserved 'My Activity Lockdown Hero'!
