Project Officer (Community Sport and Physical Activity)

You will be supporting, delivering and project managing key countywide programmes and initiatives focusing particularly on the children and young people area of work, ensuring that Suffolk’s young people are given the best opportunities to lead active and healthy lives. As part of this, you will work with key partners to identify and engage with key target groups with low participation levels and ensure activity programmes are enjoyable, sustainable, safe and appropriate for the needs of clients and the geographical area. You will also be involved in monitoring and evaluation of activities, and the marketing of Active Suffolk Programmes.

About Project Officer (Community Sport and Physical Activity)

You will need:

You must have an awareness of sports development issues and an understanding of the challenges related to achieving increased levels of physical activity in school and community sport. You will also have a thorough understanding of the health benefits of a physically active lifestyle and the ability to convey this to others You will also have excellent project management and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply research data into meaningful insight in your role.

A flexible approach to working hours is required, as well as mobility within the district and a willingness to travel county wide.
