East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people's lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

The post of Development Officer is an exciting opportunity from Active Suffolk (formerly known as Suffolk Sport. Please see the Active Suffolk website for more information about this organisation, part of East Suffolk Council).

Working with a broad-range of partners and sectors, we are looking for a well organised and self motivated person to support the implementation of national and local programmes in order to develop and enhance the sport and physical activity workforce, community sport infrastructure and wider community outcomes.

You will have particular responsibility for insight, evaluation and stakeholder engagement so you must have excellent communication, listening and organisation skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a small but busy team.

A flexible approach to working hours is required, as well as a full UK driving license and a willingness to travel county wide.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we'll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There's also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose built brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Please read the job description and person specification before applying for this job.

Interview date: 2 May 2019.
