Breast Cancer - Instructor Education Workshop
This workshop will be delivered by Zoe George from Exercise Therapy. Zoe has over twelve years experience working with Ipswich Hospital helping clients recovering from cancer and surgery. Over this period Zoe has developed a bespoke approach which aims to understand the specific challenges for people exercising after Breast Cancer surgery/treatment and develop an approach to maintain activity levels over a longer period.
This workshop will be a mixture of practical and theory based learning and the numbers are deliberately kept low to enable more interaction. The workshop will cover:
- Types of Breast Surgery and functional impact
- Radiotherapy / Chemotherapy / Hormone treatment and the impact / symptoms of treatment
- Benefits of exercise after during and after treatment and how to adapt exercise
- Program of appropriate exercises
- Advice on giving adaptations in classes / PT
NB: To attend this course candidates need to have a minimum level 3 fitness qualification
