Haughley Park

Our event at Haughley Park is open to all - but also enables Juniors to compete in the East Anglian Schools’ Championships. The privately-owned estate is situated NW of Stowmarket & has easy access from the A14. It’s an ideal location for this type of event as it contains areas of open parkland and mixed woodland, both with plenty of easily-recognisable features, from man-made depressions to distinctive trees. Together with the extensive path network, these features enable youngsters & beginners to develop their confidence and skills - & provide the possibility of fast running for those with experience!

There will be a range of courses from approximately 1.6 Km, with easy navigation, up to 6.4 Km & technically more difficult. Juniors competing in the Schools' Championships will need to choose the correct course for their year group but everyone else can enter whichever course suits them best, depending on their experience & level of fitness. Electronic timing will be used; the timing chips can be hired when entering. Beginners will be welcome: just check in at the Help Point & our volunteers will run through the basics with you.

Pre-entry is recommended - there may be limited entry on the day, bu this will depend on which maps are still available. Full details are available on our website.
