Start of SESCA's 2020 Sailing Season

The St Edmundsbury Sailing and Canoeing Association's 2020 sailing season starts at Lackford Lake, 5 miles NW of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Dinghy racing commences at 10.30 am, with 3 races scheduled. Social sailing and kayaking also take place throughout the day, with safety boat cover. Club dinghies and kayaks are available for hire. New members welcome. Further details at

Start of SESCA's 2020 Sailing Season

The St Edmundsbury Sailing & Canoeing Association (SESCA) is a family orientated watersports club based at Lackford Lake, five miles NW of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

The Club season runs from the last weekend in March until mid November, with on the water activities taking place on most days of the week. Dinghy racing is organised on Sundays and Thursday evenings throughout the summer, with social sailing taking place on Saturdays. The most popular classes are: Lasers; Wanderers; Enterprises; Gulls; Picos and Toppers. The Club also runs RYA sailing courses and coaching sessions for members. A fleet of sailing dinghies and kayaks is available for hire to Club members, so it is not necessary to own a boat if you want to sail or paddle.

The Club hosts a number of other sailing, boating and canoeing organisations including: the Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Mildenhall Sea Cadets; Young People Afloat (a sailing youth club); WASH Sailability (disabled sailing); Suffolk Scouts and Priory School.

Whether you are interested in sailing (pottering or racing), canoeing or just like the great outdoors, you are most welcome to visit the Club to see what we have to offer. Annual membership fees are: Student (under 25 in full time education) £25; adult £62 and family £90.
