East Suffolk: So much on the horizon

Each year the East Suffolk Partnership hosts a conference for representatives from our local communities, voluntary organisations, public services and local businesses. This important event gives us all the opportunity to share our knowledge and expertise and work together to benefit our communities and businesses in East Suffolk.

Trinity Park, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP3 8UH

East Suffolk: So much on the horizon

Our theme this year is "East Suffolk: So much on the horizon!" and will provide an opportunity to "take a breath" during this time of rapid change to look at the potential ups and downs of living in east Suffolk – both now and in the future.

We will take the opportunity to look into the future, reaffirm our shared ambitions for East Suffolk, and identify how to take advantage of emerging opportunities and challenges – such as:

  • How will the creation of a new East Suffolk Council from 2019 help benefit the area?
  • Do we really understand the impact of our rapidly ageing population?
  • Can it be right in 2018 that people live longer if they live in some parts of East Suffolk?
  • How can we help families who are struggling due to welfare changes and rising rents?
  • Why don't some of our young people 'aim high' and how do we get them to aspire to more?
  • How can our businesses benefit from major infrastructure investment in East Suffolk?
  • Who is looking after our environment?
  • Do we understand 'hidden needs' in East Suffolk – pockets of difference amongst the norm?
  • Are we doing enough to use new technology to benefit us all in East Suffolk?

The event will be packed with ideas and information about how we can all work together to deliver improvements to our local area and there will be a range of seminars and workshops where we can all help to identify what we can do over the coming year.

A programme of workshops and seminars will reflect the key issues important to the East Suffolk Partnership:

  • Our people – healthy and resilient individuals
  • Our environment – maximising natural capital
  • Our places – resilient communities and businesses

A full agenda along with workshop / seminar descriptions will be available in September and you will be given the opportunity to choose your preferred sessions.
