Fifteen years ago, Active Suffolk formerly known as Suffolk Sport launched the very first Suffolk Sports Awards. The prestigious annual event celebrated sports men and women, clubs, volunteers and individuals for their achievements and their contributions to local sport and physical activity.
Due to the unprecedented events of 2020 caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the awards were replaced with the Lockdown Activity Hero campaign which acknowledged those who had stepped up during challenging times to support their local community to remain active whilst we were all forced to stay at home.
This year we aimed to continue to build on the theme of last year's celebrations and shine a spotlight on those in Suffolk who have selflessly supported local communities to be more active or who themselves have made achievements through physical activity & sport.
