An Overview of Gymnastics

Gymnastics covers many different disciplines.

All are skilled and challenging and require physical strength, agility and co-ordination. Under the overall description of gymnastics lie the individual disciplines and activities of:

  • Men's artistic Gymnastics (includes high bar, parallel bars, rings, floor, vault and pommel horse)
  • Women's Artistic gymnastics (includes uneven bars, beam, floor and vault)
  • Rhythmic Gymnastics
  • Trampoline and Tumbling Gymnastics
  • Acrobatic Gymnastics

British Gymnastics provides a national directive and structure for the sport; delivering a range of opportunities across the age spectrum to take part and stay in gymnastics, as well as developing talent and delivering top-level success.

Gymnastics is an accessible and inclusive sport offering opportunities to all ability levels and ethnic groups within a range of controlled learning environments. It promotes an active and healthy lifestyle and is recognised as forming the basis for physical literacy by developing fundamental movement skills.

CrossFit Kids GFP

CrossFit Kids GFP teaches CrossFit to children aged 3-16 years of age. CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at a high intensity. Our club is all inclusive and our main aim is to make fitness fun for children of all ages.

Leisure Centre Gymnastics Delivery Coordinator

National role predominately covering South / South West England

37 hours per week

Salary £16,500 to £22,000 per annum + 34 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company Days) + contributory pension scheme.

The overall purpose of this role is to create relationships with Leisure Centre Gymnastics providers at site level and in line with the Participation Department Strategy. The role involves the holder to create site level action plans focusing on creating new opportunities, increasing participation and improving the quality of gymnastics delivery and drive the implementation of these plans, to increase the participation opportunities in Leisure Centres.
